The Central Coast is where I have lived since I was 13 years old. It is located on the east coast of NSW, Australia between Sydney and Newcastle. The Central Coast is known for its beaches and relaxed lifestyle. Many people come here to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, either to live or just for a weekend.
The Central Coast is full of waterways, national parks and beautiful beaches. Some of the more popular tourist destinations include Terrigal, The Entrance, Ettalong and Avoca. My particular favorite place is Hardies Bay and the surrounding suburbs. It’s quiet small town atmosphere, with the beach one side and bay on the other makes it a unique area.
The major shopping centre on the Central Coast is Erina Fair witch is also the largest single story shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere! It has lots of big brand stores and a variety of smaller boutique shops. Erina Fair also has many restaurants and cafes to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Erina Fair ice rink is home to the Central Coast Hockey team the Rhinos. Erina Fair has a open air meeting area called the Hive which has a lot of restaurants and cafes surrounding it as well as a gym, the ice rink, a movie theater and a library.
Gosford City is the capital city of the Central Coast and is mainly known for its water front sports stadium which is home the the Central Coast Mariners. Across the road from the stadium is the Central Coast Leagues Club which is a great place to go and have a drink after watching a game. The Leagues Club also has a large snooker room, restaurants and a mega club.
Another well known bar and restaurant near the stadium is Iguanas Water Front Bar. It was in the media a little while ago for an incident involving a quite well know politician. The bar is built out over the water and has panoramic views of Brisbane water which makes quite a nice outlook in the afternoon when the sun is setting.
